Move Over trout, it’s white bass time!

by | Jul 7, 2021 | Fish

They may not get as big or fight as hard as a speckled trout, but white bass can provide incredible memories on the water. Also known as sand bass, they live in large schools and follow their primary forage, shad, around the lake. The bag limit in Texas is 25 fish a day, and with a minimum length of ten inches, it’s not hard to catch a keeper. However, it can be hard to find a school that’s actively feeding. That ended up being our number one obstacle on June 26th, after we set out on Lake Livingston in search of the little silver fish. Luckily, we overcame and conquered the white bass to the maximum extent of the Texas law. Four guys, one hundred fish kept and cleaned!

What’s not shown in the video is the three hours of catching zero fish. We had to search, search, and search some more for a school of fish that was willing to eat. Finally, we located a school that was ready, and IT.WAS.ON!
