Rio Grande Turkey Down

by | Mar 30, 2021 | Hunt

Last weekend was an all-timer for spring turkey season for me. My dad, brother, and I met up at our family’s ranch in South Texas and chased thunder chickens for 3 days. We faced some less than ideal conditions but our persistence paid off on the last day of the hunt.

That morning started off on a high note when I was able to get redemption for my goof up the weekend before. In spite of blustery winds, I was able to call 3 jakes in to my decoys. My plan was to hang tight until a big tom showed up, but the jakes hung around and disrespected my decoys for too long. Check out the video below to see how it all went down.
