I always have a knife around me – whether I’m removing fletchings from an arrow, fidgeting with it while on work calls at home, or opening Amazon boxes (unlike my wife who insists on opening boxes with the poultry shears in the kitchen). Recently, I’ve been testing out The Runtly by Finch Knife Co. as an every day carry (EDC) knife. And I have to say, this thing is an EDC must see.
EDC knives are always a conversation starter in most public settings. When asked about it people are quick to reach into their pocket, unfold their blade, and begin to pass it around the table. At first glance, it’s obvious why the Runtly stands out above the crowd of knives. The unique blade shape is razor-like in appearance and sharpness. The overall length is 5.5” and handle length is 3.25”, so it is easy to conceal in any pocket. Lastly, the action is silky smooth. The knife glides out of the handle only to lock firmly into position for safe use.
Overall, I highly recommend the Runtly to anyone from the box opener to EDC enthusiast. This knife is worth $139 and comes in three different color options. If you aren’t satisfied with your purchase, then you are able to send it back for a full refund. Before purchasing I would check out Kevin Burke’s review of the Cimarron and see which fit is best for you.
