Clark Carruth started his outfitting operation, CCC Ranch, purely out of a passion to share what he loves to do. I was fortunate enough to see his passion first-hand last season. While I was not a hunter on the trip, I still got to witness the effort that he puts into his hunts and the knowledge he has from years of hunting white-tailed deer. Continue reading the Q&A below to learn more about the CCC Ranch. Experience your dream hunt with Clark and crew this summer, or next fall!

Clark Carruth-Owner of CCC Ranch

How and why did you start the outfitting business, and how long have you been operating?

My plan has always been to retire, own my own property, and have something to pass on to my children when I am gone. My passion for the outdoors and my striving to make my dream come true is what led me to start CCC Ranch 5 years ago. I have been hunting and in the outdoors my entire life, and helping my uncle with his ranch for the past 20+ years. I am blessed with the opportunity to run my outfitter through that property, and as the business grew and new relationships formed, I was able to expand my business through another ranch as well.

Where is the ranch located and how many acres is it?

CCC Ranch operates are 2 properties; one for whitetail and one for exotics. Our whitetail property is a family-owned ranch located in George West, TX and is about 5,000 acres. We operate our whitetail hunting on a portion of that, but have access to the whole property. Our exotic property is located in Mountain Home, TX and we have access to 7,000 acres.

What type of hunts do you offer…gun, bow, whitetail, exotics, migratory birds, etc.?

We can accommodate both rifle and bow hunters. Our South Texas property is strictly whitetail, but hunters can harvest any predator that may be seen for no extra charge. Our Hill Country property has various species of exotics, some that are there year round, while others may come and go upon availibitly. Some of our constant species are Axis, Blackbuck, Scimitar Oryx, Mouflon, Red Sheep, and Fallow.

How many guides do you employ?

Including myself, we have a total of 6 guides that operate on whatever property we are needed to meet client needs.

Can the prices be found on your website?

Yes, our prices can be found on our site (www.cccranchhunt.com), with some of the exotic species not listed due to availibitly at the time, but those can always be discussed to anyone interested.

Do you offer extracurricular activities in between hunting?

In between hunts and meals, we typically go to the shooting range, take tours around the ranch, go search for arrowheads, or take time to sit and talk with our clients and get to know them better.

What differentiates your operation from others?

We pride ourselves on being a small, family-owned outfit. The hunters that trust us to give them their dream hunt are relying on us to provide a memorable experience, and we are all about making memories. Someone may show up as a client, but we hope they leave as a friend. We truly have a passion for the outdoors and we enjoy sharing that passion with others any chance we get.

What is the largest whitetail buck a client has ever harvested with CCC Ranch?

The largest whitetail that has ever been harvested with us was 256 inches. Our average whitetail that we harvest range from 170-220 inches.

What is one thing you want potential hunters/clients to take away from this?

We want anyone interested in hunting with us to know that you’re not a number, a dollar sign, a paycheck, or just another hunt. We consider every hunt special, memorable, and unique because that’s exactly what it is. You trust us enough to hand over your hard-earned money to have an experience you’ll never forget, and we will never take that for granted.
