All American Outfitter

by | Mar 24, 2021 | Hunt

All American Outfitter is a first class operation run by Ken and Roseann Mayer.  I can say that as I have enjoyed a weekend with them before.  It was a duck hunt of epic proportions that I will never forget.  The hunting opportunities are endless with AAO, and the food is phenomenal, I mean PHENOMENAL. Lets see why I am itching for another All American Outfitter adventure, and why you should be too!

1.  How and why did you start the outfitting business, and how long have you been operating?

Ken started outfitting and guiding in Wyoming (his home) in the 1970s – moved back to Texas in the 1980s continuing to hunt with primarily quail hunters then.  All American Hunting, LLC dab All American Outfitter was actually formed in 1991 – and we’ve had the lodge for the past 17 years, so about 24 years with hunting as his only business.  I (Roseann) married him in 2002 and together we’ve been able to build a successful partnership in the industry with my skills being geared toward marketing and as Chef at the lodge.

2.  Where are you located?

We’re located 7.2 miles north of Clarendon, TX on Texas 70- halfway between Highway 287 and IH-40 which gives hunters easy access to us from most parts of the country.  Our Arkansas guests usually tell us they get on IH-40 and only make 1 left turn the whole trip to get to us!

3.  What type of hunts do you offer…gun, bow, whitetail, exotics, migratory birds, etc.?

There are no high fences here – we offer everything the great State of Texas has to offer!  Whitetail deer, mule deer, quail, dove, ducks, geese, Sandhill cranes, Rio Grande turkeys and prairie dog shoots are offered in Texas.  We travel to South Africa in June and take our guests to hunt both plains and dangerous game and have been offering these trips for the past 10 years with continued success.

4. How many guides do you employ?

Including Ken, we have 3-4 guides at any one time, but our packages include 2×1 guide assisted services.

5.  Can the prices be found on your website?

Our website is a wealth of information about each of our hunting packages and prices are all available there as well as easy payment options.

6.  Do you offer extracurricular activities in between hunting?

If someone finishes a deer hunt (4 days) we will offer duck and goose hunts where we have ponds on some of our properties, but in most cases the time spent with us is spent hunting the game you have chosen to hunt.  We have a wonderful 4-season screened porch with fireplace and satellite TV for relaxing after a hunt!

7.  What differentiates your operation from others?

We’re very small – never having more than 6-7 guests in camp at any one time.  We offer very personalized service to our guests.  Lots of our guests would tell you that the meals set us apart from other outfits — and I hope that’s true!  The food we prepare and paired wines are a dining experience. And Ken’s experience in the field on the properties that we’ve hunted and managed for the past 20 years is vital to our long term success.  We are able to lease land nearby that meets all of the requirements for each of the game species we hunt.  We hope that our warmth and hospitality on every front set us apart from the rest.  Most of our guests become like family to us!

8.  What is the largest whitetail buck a client has ever harvested with All American Outfitter?

Believe the largest was about 198 B&C and was taken many years ago – we average 135-150 with larger deer taken each season.  We post EVERY photograph of deer taken and post them on the website for folks to enjoy.  What is a trophy to one person might not be to another, so we’re proud of every whitetail deer a guest is able to harvest.

9.  What is one thing you want potential hunters/clients to take away from this?

To give us a try – to allow us to become their Texas hunting destination of choice.  We want them to know that there are comfortable accommodations, great food and fellowship, and unsurpassed hunting opportunities in the Texas Panhandle while hunting with us.

If you are looking for the best the Texas Panhandle has to offer, All American Outfitter is the place to go.  Give Ken and Roseann a call today at 806-676-4610, and be sure to visit their website at aaoutfitter.com to learn more.  While you are there, go ahead and sign up to their email list to get in on special offers, and discounted hunts.
